This page offers information on Outer Burial Containers (also called "Vaults"). An Outer Burial Container is a box into which the casket is placed before burial at the cemetery. No law requires the use of an outer burial container, but cemeteries may require one in order to be buried on the property. Most of the vaults are reinforced concrete, some with plastic linings that make them impermeable to water or any elements. Our outer burial containers range in price from $590 to $7800, the most expensive having a bronze-lined lid.
