Arvetta Maxine Widman died Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the age of 91.
She was born Nov. 10, 1923, in Woodland, Idaho, to Bessie and Frank Jay. She married Clarence E. Widman on June 30, 1946. He died Oct. 28, 1990. She later married Donald M. Stewart, who died in September 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother Doyle Jay; sister Mary Rose Kolar; and two children, Darrell E. Widman and Marva Rae Manville.
She is survived by one sister, Belva Jay; and three brothers, Marvin Jay, Donald "Red" (Evah) Jay, and LeRoy Jay; and by four children, Maxine "Cookie" (Gene) Snider, Alona (Rick) Wilkinson, Cheryl (Ronnie) Gloshen and Rhonda Snyder (John, deceased); daughter-in-law Hollis Widman (wife to Darrell); and son-in-law Larry Manville (husband to Marva). She has 23 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Arvetta was primarily a homemaker and lived the majority of her life in Lewiston. She was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many and various positions. She loved working with the youth and was well-loved by all for her generosity and caring. She was a great mother, sister, friend and neighbor. She will be missed by all.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the LDS church, 836 Preston Ave., in the Lewiston Orchards. Visitation will be from noon to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will take place at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens following the services.
