Barbara E. Maple, 78, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at her home in Lewiston.
“Barb” was born to Robert H. and Leora Walls in Wallace, Idaho, where she was raised with sisters Joanne, Marilyn and Robyn. Besides the Silver Valley, she lived in Libby, Mont., Idaho Falls, Orofino and Lewiston since 1982.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Bill and Rose Phillips; her grandchildren, Stacey Hall, Charles Hall, Monica Hall and Adam Phillips; as well as a great-grandson, Romeo.
Barb was married for 36 years to the love of her life, Richard L. Maple.
She graduated from Wallace High School, where she was a member of Girls State, and she received her master’s degree from the University of Idaho. She had retired from Lewis-Clark State College and was a longtime member of Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O. Sisterhood). She was the anchor of her family, a loving friend and devoted member of her church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Family Hospice, 1250 Idaho St., Lewiston.
A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at the Lewiston First United Methodist Church, 1906 Broadview Drive. A reception will follow at the church.
Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home of Lewiston is in charge of arrangements.
