Brenda K. Montgomery, age 58, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at Life Care Services.
She was born July 31, 1958, in Wyandotte, Mich., to Donald "Don" and Janice Mullins. She had two loving children, Amanda and Ronnie.
She worked as chief executive officer of Opportunities Unlimited until June of 2016, when she retired with 20 years on the job. She loved her work and made the most of what she did. She was truly made to help others.
Brenda truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them. Brenda had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Collins and husband Coy Collins, with their five children, Kendra, Megan, Colton, Mia and Jase; her son, Ronnie JeanBlanc and wife Rachaell JeanBlanc and their two children, Gavin and Gabby; her sister, Kathy Phelps and husband Wayne Phelps; her brother, Brian Mullins and wife Patty Mullins; her father, Don Mullins and mother Janice Mullins; and many other family members, friends and others whose lives Brenda touched. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald R. Mullins and William Edward Mullins.
A viewing for her will be held for family. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Bridges Church, with a reception to follow.

Brenda was my neighbor, friend and sister all wrapped into one beautiful package. She exuded compassion and happiness. Her family was her pride and joy. In her final days her most important mission was to plan your family vacation, a memory you could carry into the future. She taught us how to live and how to die. I want to thank you for allowing me a precious hour during her final hours. It was a blessing for me. I know she is now wrapped in the wings of the angels, praising God and free from pain. May you all find peace and comfort in the days to come.

Brenda was a great great friend in high school and after. We even shared an apartment together after high school for a while and worked at the same nursing home I cared very deeply for my good friend and all of the precious memories I have. My prayers go out to her family. She was a great loss to this world but a wonderful gift from God and now he has her back with no sorrow or pain for her. To the family remember all the good times and take comfort in the fact that she is at peace!
