C. Joyce Wyatt

11/25/1938 — 4/21/2016

Cassandra Joyce Wyatt, age 77, of Lewiston, completed her journey and joined her savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 21, 2016. She was born Nov. 25, 1938, in Genesee, to the late Dr. Almond and Ethel (Benson) White, and moved to Lewiston at the age of 3.

Joyce graduated from Lewiston High School in Lewiston in 1956 and then attended the University of Idaho, earning a bachelor of science in medical technology in 1960. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and in 1961 married the love of her life, D. Richard "Dick" Wyatt. The two of them moved to Long Beach, Calif., where Dick started his naval career aboard a U.S. Navy destroyer and Joyce began a short career as a lab tech before taking on the role of a lifelong endeavor of a domestic engineer/housewife and raising three children.

In addition to raising their three children, Joyce was actively involved as a volunteer in the Lewiston Women's Service League, enjoyed bowling in the Lewiston women's bowling league and coached young girls' Lassie League softball teams. Joyce embraced the art of baking and was well-known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies, red velvet cakes and apple and rhubarb pies.

Joyce had a passion and love for her dogs, Snoopy, a flat-coated retriever, and her golden Labs, Belle and Olaf. She was a sports fan and enjoyed attending Lewis-Clark State College Warrior baseball games and watching Gonzaga Bulldog basketball. Joyce had an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and God. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and more recently a devoted member of the Abundant Life Church in Clarkston.

Joyce is survived by her husband, D. Richard "Dick" Wyatt; son D. Christopher (Chris) Wyatt and wife Robin of Yorktown, Va.; daughters Suzanne Brown (Wyatt) of Lewiston, Valerie Cody and husband DeWayne of Monroe, Wash.; and seven grandchildren: Braeden Wyatt, Brennan Wyatt, Ethan Brown, Tirzah Cody, Hannah Cody, Priscilla Cody and Sabrina Cody.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Lewis-Clark Gideons, P.O. Box 751 Lewiston, ID 83501-0751.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Normal Hill Cemetery, Section C, Row 26. A memorial celebration of life service will be held after the graveside service at 3 p.m. at Abundant Life Church, 1483 16th Ave., Clarkston.

We pray Joyce's new life journey is peaceful and full of glory and honor. One of her favorite Bible verses is Psalm 71:26: "My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
