Carol L. Bowlin

Carol graduated from Culdesac High School. After graduation, she went to Lewiston Business School and continued on to work for Potlatch Corp. as a secretary until she married.

Carol married Archie (Pete) Bowlin on Aug. 23, 1945. Pete and Carol owned and operated Pete's Radiator Shop on N&S Highway for many years until illness forced Pete to retire.

In the early 1960s, Carol and Pete were actively involved in promoting educational activities for developmentally disabled children in Lewiston. They were part of a group of parents who started the Opportunity School in North Lewiston for disabled children. Prior to that time, there were no educational activities for these children in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley.

Carol was a member of the Orchards United Methodist Church and volunteered with the KRLC Quilters by sorting fabric for quilt squares.

Carol had devoted 50-plus years to lovingly raising and caring for her disabled daughter, Terri, and many years of caring for her late husband, Pete, who endured many challenges with Alzheimer's.

We were definitely blessed with the most wonderful mother, and her smile and loving touch will never be forgotten.

Carol is survived by three daughters, Sandra Scruggs, Jane Woolsey and her husband Richard, and Terri Bowlin; son Randy Bowlin and wife Jerry; granddaughter Shayleigh Montgomery; and

great-grandson Liam.

The family of Carol would like to give special thanks to Wedgewood Terrace, which she called home until January 2015. Thanks to the staff of Kindred Health and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Interment has taken place at LC Memorial Gardens. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 16th and Ripon in the Lewiston Orchards.
