It is with great sadness that the family of Charles “Charlie” Williams announces his passing on the morning of Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at the age of 85. Charlie was born April 19, 1940, in Estelline, Texas, to Jim and Maereen Williams. Charlie moved to Firebaugh, Calif., at an early age, where he graduated from Dos Palos High School.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Lois Williams, with whom he has been married for 55 years. He is also survived by two children, Roger Woods (Shannon) and Dana Wright (Kevin). Charlie was the second of six kids, with three brothers and two sisters. He relocated to Lewiston where he has lived with his wife Lois for the past 46 years. Charlie was a loving grandfather of six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Charlie was a caring person who put others’ needs ahead of his own and was always willing to lend a hand. He was a very hardworking man of God who devoted countless hours to the church. Charlie’s hobbies included, in addition to spending time with family, being a gunsmith and an avid collector. In his younger years, he enjoyed many outdoor activities. In his later years, his passion was watching rodeo, when he was not helping others in the church, doing lawn care, or working in his shop. He is fondly remembered for his wit and humor.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Gateway Church, 707 Seventh Ave., Lewiston.
