Charles “Chuck” Douglas Forsman, beloved brother, husband, father and grandfather, joined our Heavenly Father in the early morning of Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
His life began on Jan. 4, 1949, in Lewiston, as the firstborn child of Charley and Regina (Arnzen) Forsmann. Soon to follow were his two younger brothers, Craig Forsman and Curtis Forsman, who shared many childhood memories of neighborhood play and a bit of whimsical mischief.
After graduating from Lewiston High School, Chuck had the ambitious goal of purchasing a home and so he secured a job driving long-haul truck to materialize the future he hoped for himself. He married and then welcomed his son, Travis Forsman, into the world. Often described as his buddy, Chuck and Travis were keen for adventure together in the great outdoors — camping, hunting, dirt bike riding and more. Chuck was a devoted father; stable, conscientious and fun.
Chuck met his soulmate, Joann (Mosman) toward the middle of his life. As an inseparable duo, they relished the time they spent together dancing, listening to music and enjoying the beauty of nature. Humor and laughter were a natural occurrence as each of them leaned into the joy of one another and the beauty of the life they had built. Frequently found holding hands and using sweet terms of endearment for each other, Chuck and Jo were smitten and often found side by side. Their union combined two families and thus he lovingly welcomed three daughters to the mix: Chantal Mosman, Amanda Chambless and Hillary Mosman. Over the years, they celebrated the addition of five grandchildren: Owen and Addi Forsman, and Christopher, Olivia and Mikayla Chambless, which made life even brighter and brought an abundance of joy.
His faith and building community within All Saints Catholic Church were foundational in his life. Chuck’s service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at All Saints Catholic Church, 3326 14th St., Lewiston, with a rosary beginning at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow.
There is no way to describe the depth of blessing Chuck was in our lives. He was and is a model of patience, forgiveness and earnestness, and we are all forever changed by his presence and love.
