Chuck Wood passed away at Wedgewood Terrace on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at the age of 92, due to complications of dementia and pneumonia.
He was born on Feb. 17, 1933, to Roy and Ruth Wood. His parents passed away when Chuck was young, so he was raised by his grandmother Ruckman.
Chuck joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and was stationed in Germany for two years, then was honorably discharged.
After leaving the Army, he married Jean Wood on Sept. 26, 1957. They just recently celebrated 68 years of marriage.
During their marriage, Chuck worked at Potlatch Corporation, where he retired at the age of 55. Once retired, they enjoyed traveling, making several trips to Europe, New Zealand and several states within the United States.
He was an avid bird hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed pack trips into the high mountain lakes. His favorite time of the day was when the draft beer was poured.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Jean Wood; a son and daughter-in-law; a daughter and son-in-law; a brother; several nephews and nieces; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The burial has already taken place, with Vassar Rawls Funeral Home of Lewiston handling arrangements.
