Charlotte L. Giampedraglia

Charlotte L. Giampedraglia

10/5/1934 — 9/1/2015

Our dear sweet, loving Mama, Nana, Grandma and best friend, went to heaven Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, in the arms of her big family. Mom was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Los Angeles, to George and Della Bowman.

As a child, Charlotte attended a Lutheran school and played clarinet with the Los Angeles Orchestra for background music in newsreels. Charlotte graduated top of her class from Canoga Park High School. She married Ralph Crawford in 1952, and had four children, Michael, Jennifer, Daniel and Jessica.

Charlotte and Ralph packed up and moved to Lewiston to raise their family in 1960. They started Advanced Roofing in 1962. Charlotte kept the books, drove the shake truck and even roofed. Mom milked cows, had a huge garden, canned and hunted. She was a wonderful cook and always cooked enough to feed a whole army.

While she was putting herself through college, Charlotte bartended for a few years, where she was a friend to many. She graduated from Lewis-Clark State College as a registered nurse in 1972. She was a charge nurse at the Clarkston Care Center until retiring in 1995. Charlotte married Bob Pollock in 1972 and had two daughters, Amy and Amanda.

She loved to play softball. She played first base and won many championships and was a home run hitter.

Family was the most important thing to her. Mom was a mother to many, loved children and animals, and would take in any in need. Mom worked from sunup to sundown and laughed and played in between.

Mom had a fantastic sense of humor and loved to laugh. She had a beautiful voice, played the auto-harp and sang to us while we danced. She had a kind heart, huge smile and contagious laugh that would light up a room.

"There could never be a better mother. Mom, we love and miss you so much. You will be in our hearts forever."

Charlotte is survived by Jennifer (Bill) Hayne, Dan (Kathy) Crawford, Jessica (Brian) Collins, Amy (Terry) Roberts, Amanda Schultz, 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Michael Crawford, and parents George and Della Bowman.

Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Granite Lake Community Church, 231 Fifth St., Lewiston. Covered-dish dinner to follow, at 3512 Eighth St. E, Lewiston. Bring your lawn chairs, swimming suits and BYOB.
