Dan T. Cook, 36, of Lewiston, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019.
Dan was born in Pullman to Dan J. Cook (deceased) and Natalie Anders on Aug. 13, 1982.
He is survived by his mother and paternal grandparents, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Danny graduated from the Alaska Military Youth Academy in 2001 at Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. He received high honors in academics and finished in the top 5 percent of his class. He was awarded a four-year scholarship to any university in Alaska for his outstanding academic achievement. He attended college for two years at the University of Fairbanks, Alaska, where he received high honors in academics his first year in studying avionics; he was planning to become a commercial pilot.
In his youth, Danny enjoyed playing baseball, riding in competition in horse events, and his fishing and hunting trips with his father and family.
Danny suffered with debilitating mental illness throughout his entire adult life that resulted in a life of struggles that he often memorialized in his talent for music through recorded and copyrighted music lyrics, as well as a memoir.
In the past recent months, Danny had received joyful news and was extremely excited and had been preparing for his son, who would be born this fall.
Family was the most important thing to Danny. He was loyal, selfless and showed so much gratitude for the smallest gift or act of kindness. He had an amazing smile that he shared generously.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him but most especially by his mother, Natalie, and paternal grandmother, who he loved dearly and who stood by his side through all his struggles, with unending love and support to the end
