Delors A. 'Dee' Engle

Delors A. 'Dee' Engle

3/24/1939 — 3/24/2018

Dee Engle was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2018, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born Feb. 8, 1939, in Boise, to Ralph and Della Geffe. She lived in Lewiston and enjoyed being a snowbird of Yuma, Ariz., for the last 20 years.

Dee married Bill Engle on May 18, 1959, and enjoyed 59 years with him. They enjoyed the delight of having three lovely daughters: Barb, Kris and Linda. Dee went through nurse's training and spent the rest of her life caring for others. Dee was involved in many organizations: Jaycee-Ettes, Job's Daughters, swim team, Bluebirds and 4-H. She was a catechism teacher and very involved in the Catholic church. She helped to establish the Pregnancy Care Center of Lewiston, and volunteered with hospice programs.

Dee and Bill were foster parents for many years. Dee also was an accomplished master gardener and enjoyed her garden and canning. She worked for Orchards Pet Hospital and had her own woodworking business for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and judged many years at the Nez Perce County and Stevens County fairs. She also was a fabulous cook, a talent which she passed down to her girls.

Dad says, "Mother and I did everything we ever wanted to do." They spent many years camping, fishing, riding motorcycles and other family activities, along with close family friends, Jim and Vivian Evans.

Dee is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughters, Barb (Jeff), Kris (Lonnie), and Linda (Brian); son Jim; her sister, Bobbi (Bob) Mawhinney; her sister-in-law, Linda (Don) Sande; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family members.

The rosary will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, followed by the funeral Mass at All Saints Catholic Church, Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Joseph Hospice, whom the family would like to thank for their loving care.

Services are under the direction of Vasser-Rawls Funeral Home of Lewiston.
