Earnest Lee Malchow died Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at his home in Lewiston. Ernie was born Sept. 24, 1936, in Shallow Water, Kan., to Roy and Frances Malchow. Ernie was a jack of all trades and he could fix or build anything. He spent the early 1960s in the Idaho National Guard. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Frances Malchow; brother Harry Malchow; and sisters Ida Binns and Ada Talbott.
Ernie is survived by wife Barbara Malchow; brother Gene (Esther) Malchow of Lewiston; sons Mark (Shelley) Malchow of Petaluma, Calif., Ernie (Sandy) Malchow of Drain, Ore., and John Malchow of Salem, Ore.; stepson William Malchow of Salem; daughters Kathy (Mike) Kuzich of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Christie (Jason) Zumwalt of Lewiston; as well as 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
No service will be held, at Ernie's request.
