Ed passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at his home in Lewiston.
He was born April 12, 1922, in Minnesota to Gustav and Mary Heese. At the age of 2 his family moved to Melrose, Idaho.
From 1942 to 1944 he served in World War II in the 12th Armored Division. After discharge he married Mildred Damman on June 29, 1944.
Ed worked a short time on the coast for Boeing Construction, then returned to the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley, where he worked for Auto Freight Trucking for 24 years. He retired from Evergreen Tire in 1977, when he and Mildred moved to Culdesac.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; two sons, Rodney and Dennis; daughter Marlene and all of his siblings including his twin brother, Con.
He is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends.
Rev. Scott Jurgens will officiate a graveside service at 1 p.m. Friday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran, 920 Eighth Ave., Lewiston.
