Eilman Martin

4/18/1934 — 6/17/2024

Eileen Lucille Clark Martin, 90, of Lewiston, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, peacefully in her home. Born on April 18, 1934, in Peoa, Utah, to Allen Henry Clarke and Thella Lucille Clarke, Eileen joined her older brother James “Fritz” Stanger to complete their family. Her early years were spent in Coalville, Utah, among her grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins. She attended school in Ogden, Utah, and after graduation, worked in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Eileen came to Lewiston, in 1954. She often said she only came to Lewiston for a short visit but never left. On Aug. 18, 1955, she married Emmett Martin. Together they raised three sons: Brian (married to Lisa Martin), Bruce (married to Sue Martin) and Brad (married to Jo Martin), all of Lewiston.

Eileen dedicated her life to being a loving homemaker and the matriarch of her family. Her greatest achievements were raising her three boys and nurturing her eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Alongside her husband, she also managed the books and helped run various family businesses. Eileen was devoted to her sons and grandchildren, never missing a single sports game or event, and always cheering them on with unwavering support. She was also the spiritual nurturer of the family, raising her children and grandchildren in the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eileen took great joy in family history work and actively participated in church activities.

Eileen is survived by her three sons: Brian (Lisa), Bruce (Sue) and Brad (Jo), all of Lewiston; her eight grandchildren: Jerud Martin, Josh Martin, Brianna Storm, Nathan Martin, Matthew Martin, Melissa Nolen, Brett Martin and Anna Martin; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James “Fritz” Stanger, and her husband Emmett Martin.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3810 16th St., Lewiston, with the family present to greet guests an hour prior. A graveside service will follow directly after at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens.

Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home of Lewiston is in charge of arrangements.
