Eugene Anthony Feucht, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at home, surrounded by love.
Gene was born Aug. 18, 1928, at Winchester, to Leo J. and Mary T. Trukositz Feucht.
He attended school in Winchester and Portland, Ore.
On Jan. 4, 1946, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Marsh and USS Major, being discharged Nov. 8, 1947.
He went to work for Potlatch Forest Inc. in 1948, retiring the end of December, 1989. He then drove for Enterprise Car Rental and WestOne Bank.
On Aug. 22, 1952, he married Phyllis Groseclose at St. Stanislaus Church in Lewiston.
Gene raised great gardens and beautiful flowers. His dahlias won the grand prize at the Nez Perce County Fair.
He loved fishing and hunting better than eating.
Gene loved laughing and joking with everyone he met. He did not know a stranger. His laughter and joy for life was contagious and he will be greatly missed.
Gene is survived by Phyllis, his loving wife of 63 years; daughters Janet (Randy) Ellis, Leigh Ann (Doug) Cole and Pamela Ewing; son Michael Feucht; grandchildren Jennifer Ellis, Heather Hewitt, Mandy (Sean) Rugg, Eric (Ashley) Matson, Jeremy (Ashley) Feucht, Krystan (Brian) Martini, Denni Jo (David) Fitzsimmons and Breanna Babino; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters Barbara Phillips, Patricia Ingram and Carolyn Ohr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister
Johann Ostman.
The family would like to thank caregivers Karin Guinn and Phyllis Card for the wonderful, loving care they gave to Gene.
A rosary service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 3330 14th St., Lewiston. Memorials may be made in Gene's name to All Saints Catholic Church Building Fund.
