Frank Lynn Johnson

4/18/1956 — 10/3/2018

  • Service Date: 10/20/2018

Frank Lynn Johnson passed away unexpectedly at his Lewiston home Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018. Frank was born April 18, 1956, to Leslie Dwight Johnson and Nita Fae (LaCourse) Johnson in Prineville, Ore. He grew up in Pendleton, Ore., and attended Pendleton High School.

After high school, he moved to Portland and attended Mt. Hood Community College. He and Susan Mize had a daughter, Summer, in August 1975.

In 1986, he married Nancy Elizabeth Clawson. This union also added a stepson, Charlie. In 1987, he and Nancy welcomed a son, Taylor. They moved from Pendleton to Lewiston in 1988. He was currently working for Lewiston School District in the maintenance department. He could be seen all over Lewiston, mowing district lawns.

Frank loved spending time with his family. He regularly attended school and sporting events for his grandkids. Holidays were important to him, and the family usually got together at his house. He was a quiet man who kept to himself, but his heart was huge.

Surviving him are daughter Summer (Rick) Kaufman, with grandchildren Tanner, Katie and Maddie, all of Asotin; his son, Taylor William (Felicia) Johnson, with granddaughter Jennessa, of Maple Grove, Minn.; stepson Loren Charles (Bonnie) Schademan, with grandchildren Hailey and Sheldon, of Clarkston, Pullman and Lewiston; sister Vickie Johnson; brothers William (Darcy) Johnson and James Johnson; sister-in-law Jenny Clawson of Eugene, Ore.; brother-in-law Jon Dawley of Lewiston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; mother; mother-in-law Louise Brown; wife Nancy; brother-in-law Mike Shailer; and girlfriend Jeanna Baker.

Frank’s immediate family would like to extend a special thanks to Jesse and Rachel Campbell and Rod and Dee Hemphill, all of Lewiston, for being so kind to our father over the years and after Nancy passed.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 1104 Warner Ave., Lewiston.
