James Howard Scott was born Sept. 15, 1946, to Fred William Scott and Wanda Katherine (Pruett) Scott in Gooding, Idaho. He died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at the age of 69.
Jim was an Idaho boy. He truly did love this state. He was a Vietnam veteran but never liked talking about the war. He worked for Twin City Foods for 26 years. He also worked as an auto mechanic before working at Twin City Foods.
He was married early in life and had two children, Shelly and Joe. That marriage ended in divorce. Later, he married Beth Lindley and had a son, Todd James. That marriage also ended in divorce. In 1977, he met who would become the love of his life, Judy. They lived the life they wanted.
It was very sad when Jim passed on their 39th wedding anniversary. They wished it could have been longer but it was Jim's time to go and leave his family.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Judy; children Todd, Shelly, Joe and Clint; his stepchildren, Nicki Gortsema, whom he adored, Tabb and Todd Kennedy of Grangeville; and grandchildren Alexandra and Ashton Scott of Lewiston; stepgrandchildren Eric Gortsema, Bridget Arnzen, Jake Kennedy and Lacy Brannon of Grangeville; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving sister, Barbara Smith; her children, Scott, Grant and Leah and their families, all of Boise; as well as his uncles, Dwayne Pruett and Steve Pruett and their families.
Jim was preceded in death by his father and mother, and brother-in-law Stan Smith.
Cremation has taken place, and he said just drink a beer in his memory.
