“A life of dedication and love leaves a legacy that never retires.”
Jerry R. Hieronymus, 87, of Clarkston, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026.
Born June 16, 1938, to Curly Hieronymus and Martha Keiper, Jerry lived a life defined by service, hard work and devotion to family. He proudly served several years in the United States Army, an experience that reflected his lifelong sense of duty and commitment.
Jerry was known for his strong work ethic and dedication — he never truly retired and continued working up until his final year. He believed in staying active, contributing and doing an honest day’s work, values he carried throughout his entire life.
He also had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a joke or story to make others laugh. His quick wit and easygoing nature made him a joy to be around and left lasting memories with family, friends and coworkers alike.
Jerry loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. Time spent in nature brought him peace and happiness, and he enjoyed sharing those experiences with others whenever he could.
Above all, Jerry was devoted to his family. He took great pride in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they were the center of his world. His love, guidance, humor and example will continue to live on through them.
He is survived by his sons, Troy Hieronymus and Kary Hieronymus; his daughter, Shonna Petersen; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish his memory and the legacy he leaves behind.
Jerry’s life was one of service, hard work, laughter and love. Though he is no longer with us, the impact he made will continue to be felt for generations.
