Jodie Lee Good

4/23/1952 — 1/4/2019

  • Service Date: 2/8/2019

Jodie Lee Good, 66, formerly of Central City, Neb., died Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at his home in Lewiston, surrounded by family and friends, after a lengthy illness.

Jodie was born April 23, 1952, in Central City, to Merle and Ilene Good. He attended schools in Central City and graduated from Central City High School, where he was active in wrestling, football and the Boy Scouts organization. He worked as a farmhand, commercial truck driver and on construction crews in the surrounding area, and he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1972. His basic training was at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, and then on to Fort Polk in Louisiana and Fort Benning in Georgia, where he attended jump school and became a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. Most of his four years was spent at Fort Bragg in North Carolina as an NCO, setting up training scenarios in chemical, biological and radiological warfare. On his request, he was transferred to Fort Hood in Texas for the last six months of his service so he could be stationed abroad. He was assigned to Hohenfels, Germany, where he trained German soldiers in TOW missile operations.

After his military service, Jodie continued working in construction. He married Patricia TenEyck at the home of his parents in Central City on Jan. 14, 1978. He made the decision to pursue a degree as an X-ray technician in Cheyenne, Wyo., where he met fellow X-ray tech Neal Brown. They became lifelong friends. Upon completion of his training, Jodie, as a single father, moved with his three children to Lewiston, where he was employed by St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, along with his friend, Neal, from 1984-2012. Jodie loved the community of Lewiston and found much pleasure golfing, fishing, hunting and raising his children, who kept him young, happy and entertained.

Jodie found tremendous joy and pride in his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters, Nikki Rourick and Sunshine (Kevin) Brotherton, all of Lewiston; son Geoff (Heather) Good of Redmond, Ore.; granddaughters Bridget, Samantha and Nevaeh; grandsons Isaiah, Nolan, Blake, Dresden, Dexter, Jordan, Harley and Kevin; sisters Merlene (Roger) Broer of Hill City, S.D., and Kathy (Craige) Baker of Palmer, Alaska; and former wife Pat Head of Lewiston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Ilene Good.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 8 at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home, 920 21st Ave., Lewiston. A memorial fund has been established in memory of Jodie Lee Good in Sunshine Brotherton’s name at P1FCU, P.O. Box 897, Lewiston, ID 83501. Donations may be sent to that address.

Condolences

Elizabeth (Rutherford) Wanamaker

My thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I went to high school with Jodie. I also lived next door to his grandmother Edith Currey as a child and have fond memories of seeing him with his family. May God’s promises bring you hope, and may his presence bring you peace.
