John Robert McHone, 56, of Stites, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Spokane.
John was born Dec. 10, 1960, at Lewiston, to Delbert W. McHone and Polly (Patricia Louise Wickersham) Montgomery. He attended schools at Lewiston.
As a young man John went to Dallas, where he held various jobs. He returned to the Stites area and worked as a seasonal laborer for the Forest Service and other employers.
In July of 2007, John was disabled from a car accident that left him a paraplegic.
John is survived by his son, Brandon Lee McHone; uncles Ivan McHone of Lewiston and Gary Montgomery of Clarkston; and a sister, Debra Day Morris; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his father and mother, and brother Clay McHone, who passed away in July 2016.
John's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Care Connection, Alternative Nursing Services and to his good friend Roberto for the excellent care and assistance given to John throughout the last nine years.
A family service will be held at Tahoe Mountain Rest Cemetery near Kooskia at a later date.
