John R. Simmons

Oklahoma born and Texas raised, John arrived in the Northwest by way of the Air Force. While stationed in Spokane, he met his wife, Janice, to whom he would be married for 52 years. They raised two sons while John worked at Potlatch Corp., until his retirement in 2003. In his later years, he had a variety of pursuits but enjoyed none more than caring for his dogs, at home and as an animal shelter volunteer. Anyone wishing to make a contribution in his memory is encouraged to donate to the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter so they can help the pups he loved.
