Our beloved father Joseph (Joe) G. Gallucci passed away Aug. 13, 2015, at Tri-State Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 30, 1930, in Yeagertown, Pa., to Carmen and Antonia Gallucci. He graduated from Lewistown (Pa.) High School in 1948. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Oct. 12, 1948, and served in the Korean War on the USS Roulette. He left active duty in 1952 and served six years in the reserves.
Joe married Martha Adsitt June 6, 1952, in Crockett, Calif. In 1953, they chose to live and raise their four daughters, along with several foster children and supported three stepchildren, in Lewiston.
Before coming to Lewiston, Joe worked for Armour Meats in Spokane and the Burlington Northern Railroad, and upon arrival in Lewiston he worked for Potlatch Corp. as an electrician since 1955, retiring from the Pulp and Paper Division in 1994.
After the passing of his wife, Martha, in 1992, he met his beloved companion, Geraldine (Gerri) George, in 1994, and merged their families until her passing in 2002.
Joe was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge since 1955. He was governor of the local Moose Lodge in Clarkston in 1979. He served as president of the State of Washington and North Idaho Moose Association in 1984. He received his pilgrim degree in October 1988. He enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, archery, bowling and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Martha, and his companion, Gerri, he was preceded in death by his parents; stepsons Gary Adsitt and Mike Collins; great-granddaughter Gabby Wallace; and stepgrandson Jacob Roberts.
He is survived by his three sisters, Carmie and Phil Bruner, Nettie and Max Buford and Rose and Ed Rheam; daughters Linda and Karl Walker, Becky and Ron Bilbrey, Laurie and John Gallucci and Joni and Tim Wallace, all of Lewiston; two stepdaughters, Teri and Dave Hill of Spokane and Sandra and Victor Butay of Medford, Ore.; along with extended children John and Wanda George, Tina Miller and Jeff Jacobs, Janet George, Tammie and Mitch Davies and Mary Rydeen. He also leaves behind 41 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two nieces and one nephew.
Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at All Saints Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston. Luncheon reception will follow at the Moose Lodge in Clarkston.
