Joseph M. Funaro

He was born May 5, 1964, in Spokane, to Margheurite and Tony Funaro. He was a bonus baby for his parents and four older siblings. Joe married his soulmate, Brenda Blue, on May 27, 1995. His son, Angelo, was born Jan. 25, 1999, and was the light of his life.

Joe was proud of his Italian heritage and loved his entire family dearly.

Prior to Joe's illness, he worked at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in the cancer center. Joe was passionate about his work at the cancer center, calming patients' fears, working with their families and his colleagues. Joe loved people and collected good friends throughout his life, and he never met a stranger. Joe took the time to be present for his family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

Joe is survived by his wife, Brenda; his son, Angelo; siblings Mary, Frances, Pete and Tony; bonus siblings Kelly Jean, DiAnn and Paul; and best friend, Angelo Calacino.

There will be a celebration of Joe's life at 10:30 a.m. Friday at CrossPoint Alliance Church, 1330 Powers Ave., in Lewiston.
