On Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, the Olson family lost their loving and caring mother. JoWana Olson was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Boswell, Okla., to Welton and Delores Goodwin, their only child. The family moved to Paris, Texas, and then to Pamona, Calif., before moving to Montana. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for several years and as an in-home care provider for many clients, but her favorite job of all was being a homemaker and taking care of her children and, later, grandchildren.

JoWana married Gerald Olson on Oct. 15, 1978, and they lived in Montana for several years before moving and settling in Washington. She is survived by nine kids: Kathy Rolfs of Moses Lake, Wash.; Terry Corti of Whitefish, Mont.; Gary Olson of San Diego; Karla Hawkins of Kalispell, Mont.; Dan Olson of Lewiston; April Armstrong of Spokane; Angelisa Olson of Clarkston; Tamika Olson of Clarkston; and Dylan Olson of Clarkston. She is the proud “Grammy” of 24 grandkids and 15 great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her loving husband. She will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Life Apostolic Church, 1010 21st Ave., Lewiston.

The family is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Your family has my deepest sympathy. I am so very sorry to learn of the loss of Ms. JoWana, someone so beloved. I was thinking of something to say to ease the tremendous pain that your family is suffering. So I compiled this list of scriptures that is sure to bring you comfort in this difficult time: Psalms 55:22; Proverbs 3: 5 & 6; Isaiah 41:10; 2 Corinthians 1:3-7; James 4:8; and Revelation 21:4. Be strong. Cherish the memories. May the peace of God be with your family always. And, please, remember to call upon his name found at Psalms 83:18.
