Laurence “Larry” Adrian Mertsching, 88, of Lewiston, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at Prestige Rehabilitation Care Center.
Larry was born in Walla Walla on May 5, 1928, to Arthur and Jane Mertsching. He served in the Army during the Korean War and retired from Potlatch after 30 years.
His hobbies included woodworking, fishing and camping. He was a patient man who took a common sense approach to life.
He is survived by his stepson, Marv Coleman (Bonnie); three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who were very special to him. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Harold and Betty; and wives Betty and May Lee.
Many thanks to the staffs at Prestige, St. Joe Palliative Care and a special thank you to his neighbors, who were as much a part of his family as his own.
