Lily Riechers

Lily Riechers

6/9/2025 — 12/30/1932

Our “Miss Lily” has left us. Lily Janet Riechers (Parrish) was born Dec. 30, 1932, in Portland, Ore., to John Bruce Parrish and Pluma Rose (Tacy) Parrish. She passed on Monday, June 9, 2025, at her home in Lewiston. Her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and friends were with her throughout her cancer-related illness. Mom attended Weaskus School in North Lewiston and Lewiston High School. While in high school she worked at St. Joseph Hospital.

In February 1950, she married Earl Trautman and moved to the family farm located outside of Craigmont at the base of Mason Butte. She and Earl had five children: Erlene West, Ginger Leach, Beverly Decker, Clifford Trautman and Donna Kuchmak. She was a homemaker, truck driver during harvest, ranch hand during calving and branding seasons, school room mother and Campfire Girl leader. She joined and became a lifetime member of the Craigmont American Legion Auxiliary Unit 38 and helped with many events including serving at the annual June Picnic, meeting her goal to serve at least until she was 90.

When life changed due to divorce, she worked at the Wagon Wheel and IGVOH cafes in Craigmont. In November 1968, she married James Riechers. During that time, she was a homemaker and volunteer EMT for the Craigmont Ambulance Service. The marriage ended in 1987, and she moved to Lewiston and briefly worked at the Lewiston Country Club where she golfed for many years.

Mom bowled, played bridge, joined her friends for “Wine on the Deck,” along with “Taco Tuesday” at the Wrangler, and attended many events at the Eagles and elsewhere. During her 38 years in Lewiston, Mom enjoyed weekly salon appointments and had her nails done every three weeks with the theme of the season. She dressed so that her clothes and earrings always matched.

Mom was never bored, filling her spare time reading, working jigsaw puzzles and socializing with her family and many friends. “Miss Lily” comes from her owning Miss Lily’s Saloon and Buggy Stop in Winchester. During that time, she made new friends and enjoyed her old friends. Her family is sure that anyone who met her has their own “Miss Lily” story.

She was preceded in death by her son Clifford Trautman, grandson Todd Fisbeck, sons-in-law Zeke West and Rodger Leach, granddaughter-in-law Cara Haight, parents, siblings and bonus grandson Robert West. She is survived by her daughters Erlene West, Ginger Leach, Beverly (John) Decker and Donna (David) Kuchmak; grandchildren Chip Haight, Christy (Lee) Wallace, Jennifer (Greg) Branson, Julie (Benjamin) Barron, Jeffrey (Alejandra) Decker, Kasey (Paul) Laney and Brian (Karla) Krueger; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, bonus grandchildren Michael (Lisa) Leach, Nancy Luvass, Don (Kim) West, Linda West, Susan (Carl) Hayworth, Sherri (Joe) Kirchhoff, Lily West (Russ Dale), Brian (Christina) Kuchmak, Richard Kuchmak and Lindsy (Michael) Tolle and numerous bonus great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at River City Church, 2102 Eighth St., Lewiston. A “party” will follow at the Lewiston Eagles, 1304 Main St., Lewiston. Please consider wearing something red — her favorite color and a symbol of her bold, classy, loving spirit.

In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Craigmont American Legion Auxiliary Unit 38, P.O. Box 534, Craigmont, ID 83523 or to a charity of your choice.
