Linda Louise Dodel entered her eternal rest Monday, June 20, 2016, at Royal Plaza Care Center in Lewiston of congestive heart failure. She was 74.

Linda was born Aug. 14, 1941, in Lewiston, to William A. and Esther A. (Pratt) Dodel. She grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1960 before attending Lewiston Normal School, now Lewis-Clark State College. Linda was a true Lewistonian and lived her entire life here.

Linda worked as an Avon representative for several years. She loved dogs and birds and raised Pomeranians. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and sang in the choir there. Linda was also a musician and played the violin, piano and played in the church's bell choir. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and reading. She loved traveling and boating with her family. She was also an avid stargazer.

Linda is survived by cousins Beverly Pratt Gilliam (Gary) of Culdesac, Doug Pratt (Catherine) of Clarkston, C. Robert Pratt (Sharon) of Nezperce, Joanna M. Rasmussen James (Guinn) of Springfield, Ore., Del C. Rasmussen (Joani) of Central Point, Ore., David Pratt (Shirley) of Bandon, Ore., Leola McIntire of Portland, Ore., Leila McIntire Palmer of Tualatin, Ore., Kendrick McIntire (Lois) of Aurora, Ore., Karolyn McIntire Muldrow (Jim) of Aurora, Ore., John McIntire (Lelia) of Sisters, Ore., Susan Dodel Shane of Forks, Wash., Eric Dodel (Tammy) of Honolulu, Janet Dodel Kistner (Ed) of Maple Valley, Wash., Douglas Hill (Connie) of Marana, Ariz., Kathy Hill Etchells (Gary) of Poulsbo, Wash., Carol Kovanen Gilbert of Lewiston, Mike Kovanen (Dorothy) of Richland, Judy Swanson Brewster (Averette) of Richland, David and Annette Betts of Spokane, Carol and Randy Fred of Lewiston, and Katherine Rogers of Clarkston. Linda Louise Dodel is also survived by aunts Cleo Dodel of Port Angeles, Wash., and Becky Dodel of Maple Valley, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank Royal Plaza Care Center for the wonderful care given to Linda during her stay there.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston, with the Rev. Chuck Cram officiating.

The family suggests that any memorial donations be made to Helping Hands Rescue, P.O. Box 1975, Lewiston; or the Lewis-Clark Animal Shelter, 6 Shelter Road, Lewiston.

Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
