Marie Theresa Frank was born to William and Emily Harlow in Lewiston on Dec. 24, 1928. Marie attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1947. She then married Benjamin Frank at St. Stanislaus Church on Oct. 1, 1947. They had a son Marvin R. Frank and a daughter Lynette M. Frank (Sherwin).
Marie was a wife and stay-at-home mother until her children were grown. She then went on to work as a supervisor of housekeeping at the Tapadera Hotel for 19 years. She then moved on to work at Tri-State Hospital as the supervisor of housekeeping for nine years. After Marie retired she then became a smiling face at St. Joseph Hospital as a Pink Lady for 13 years.
Marie cared for her husband Ben, who had developed Alzheimer’s and dementia, for five years until his passing on Dec. 15, 2003. Also, she was caring for Lynette who has MS for 17 years until she needed more care, and was placed in Orchard View Post Acute Care nursing home.
Marie is survived by Marvin Frank, her son; Lynette Sherwin, her daughter; Jennifer Millage, her granddaughter; and two bonus granddaughters, Missy Birch and Mindy Birch. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren Joshua Sherwin, Maxwell Wolfe and Conner Wolfe. Also, several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Frank; her parents; her daughter-in-law Pearl Birch; her brothers Francis, William, Robert, Leo and Ronald Harlow; and sisters Margaret and Marline Harlow.
Marie passed away quietly in her sleep surrounded by family on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at Orchard View Post Acute Care nursing home in Lewiston.
The family has chosen to wait until spring to hold a graveside service with a date to come after the first of the year. A notice will be posted in the paper.
