Mary Ann Cannon

She was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Ferdinand, to Christopher and Ida Sarbacher Roeper. She grew up on a farm southwest of Ferdinand and graduated from Ferdinand High School in 1949.

She moved to Twin Falls in December 1949 and met Richard Cannon. They were married Aug. 8, 1951, at Burley, Idaho. They moved to Ferdinand in 1958, where they owned and operated the Reno Inn. They returned to Lewiston in 1962.

Mary Ann worked for Twin City Foods and Norden's Food City. Richard died Feb. 13, 1999. Mary Ann was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping, reading, crocheting and dancing with her husband in their younger years. She had a great love for her special dogs and cats throughout her life.

Mary Ann is survived by three sons, William (Sally), Richard (Rita) and Gary Cannon, all of Lewiston. Also surviving are her granddaughter, Julie Hankerson; and great-grandchildren Ashley, Tyler, Bailey and Kenyan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard; sisters Rose Johnson and Virginia Schulers; and brothers Jack, Archie and Percy Roeper.

A rosary service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at All Saints Catholic Church, 3330 14th St., Lewiston, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Ferdinand cemetery.
