Mildred Case

5/4/1934 — 5/31/2025

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, we lost our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Millie Ann Case. She was born to Lawrence W. and Milly M. Brown, May 4, 1934, in North Platte, Neb. She attended elementary school there until her dad was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II and was sent to Europe. Millie Ann and her mom moved to Camas, Wash., to be closer to family. After the war ended, they moved to Clarkston.

Mom was a proud Clarkston Bantam, graduating from Clarkston High School in 1952. She made three lifelong friends, Joan (Lewis) Hanson, Laura Rose (Anderson) Evans and Evelyn (Witters) Kerr. Mom attended nursing school at Sacred Heart in Spokane after graduation. On Oct. 6, 1956, she married the love of her life, Dale Case. They spent 62 years together until his death in 2019.

She is survived by her three children: Julie Brudie (Jeff), Larry Case (Audrey) and Annette Amdal; seven grandchildren: Nicole Falk (Ward), Jason Brudie (Emily), Jeremy Brudie, Daisy Case (John Greene), Taunya Sundin, Kirsten Castellanos and Mike Amdal Jr.; seven great-grandchildren who were the apple of her eye: Wyatt, Cameron and Zoey Falk, Sylvanas and Alleria Brudie, and Maurice and Hyrum Nielson.

Mom was a Girl Scouts leader and was involved in PTA through our school years. She was a bookkeeper for Golden Grain Dairy, cook at the Red Steer and Frost Top Drive-Ins. She loved the people she worked for and with.

After retirement, Mom and Dad traveled in their motorhome to several National Parks and the Oregon Coast — Mom’s favorite place; and the Lochsa and Buffalo Hump to camp and fish. She also looked forward to her annual birthday trip to Reno with Julie, Larry and his family.

Mom’s love language was baking. She loved making candy, cookies and cakes for her family and friends. Her fudge, peanut butter balls and eggnog cakes were legendary. I affectionately dubbed her “the enabler” because she made cookies and cakes every week. She was feisty, all 90 pounds of her. You didn’t dare turn her goodies down due to an expanding waistline.

Mom was the best. She will be forever in our hearts along with all the precious wonderful memories of an amazing woman we were lucky enough to call Mom. Thank you, God, for choosing her for us. Our family would also like to thank Alison Feucht for spending the last year as Mom’s friend and part-time caregiver.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at the Congregational Presbyterian Church, 709 Sixth St., Lewiston; with a luncheon to follow the service.

Mom loved animals so in lieu of flowers please donate to the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter for the paws fund, 6 Shelter Road, Lewiston, or a local animal rescue of your choice.
