An earthly angel got her heavenly wings on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017. Moureen Greco, 91, of Lewiston, passed peacefully at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, with her family present.

Moureen was born April 22, 1925, to Henry J. and Mary T. Kluss Herman. Upon graduation from Genesee High School, she moved to Lewiston and worked for J.C. Penney, Washington Water Power and Potlatch Corp. She also managed Camas Prairie Railroad Credit Union for many years.

She met the love of her life at a dance and they danced through 70 years together. On Jan. 21, 1947, she married Louie Greco at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lewiston. She was devoted to her husband and family, her church and God. Most recently, Moureen was a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church. She served in the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters and on many committees for funeral dinners and bazaars, along with being instrumental in providing beautiful liturgical environments for many decades. She loved to play bridge and golf, sew, crochet, quilt, embroider and travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Donald and Charles Herman; and her sister, Mary Louise Esser. She is survived by her husband, Louie; and children Geralyn M. (Terry Taylor) Vance of Spokane, Mary Louise (Joel) Nitcy of Lewiston, Karen M. (James) Phillips of Draper, Utah, Joseph C. Greco, and Cynthia M. (Aaron) Clark of Lewiston. She also leaves 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Esther Herman; and many nieces and nephews.

The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church by Monsignor Andrew Schumacher, Rev. Joe Schmidt and Deacon Fred Schmidt. Burial will follow at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens. A lunch will be served afterward at All Saints Catholic Church.
