Nancy Marie Gill, a longtime Lewiston resident, died Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Guardian Angel Homes, Post Falls. She was 90 years old.
Nancy was born Dec. 6, 1925, to Peitro and Caterina Polillo in Lewiston. Nancy attended school in Lewiston. She met and married her husband, Robert "Bob" E. Gill of Clarkston on Oct. 23, 1948.
In the early '70s, Bob and Nancy lived in Spokane for two years before returning to Lewiston.
Nancy was a petite little woman with a lot of energy. She seemed to be running everywhere. In the early days of marriage, she worked at Smith's Frozen Foods. She later spent a long career selling shoes for J.C. Penney Co. in the Lewiston Mall. After she retired from Penney's, she worked laundry services at Tapadera Motor Inn.
She moved to Post Falls in 2011 to be near family.
Nancy was a devout Catholic, a hard-working, independent woman. She was a wonderful sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who lived and breathed her family. Family was the most important thing in her life.
After 39 years, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 1982. She also lost her sisters, Fanny Fulvio of Lewiston, Santina Vinci of Walla Walla and Tony St. Marie of Spokane; and brother Thomas Polillo of Kennewick.
She is survived by one sister, Rosemary Polillo of Alameda, Calif.; sons Larry (Gail) Gill of Post Falls and David (Terri) Gill of Boise and five grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda) Gill of Lewiston, Erin Gill of Seattle, Traci Larson of Post Falls, and Robert and Allan Gill of Boise.
She also leaves seven great-grandchildren, Saylor, Addison, Marley, Sophia, Max, Regan and Sam.
She will be greatly missed, but we are comforted to know she is with her loving parents, husband, sisters and brother.
A graveside service will be held at noon Monday at the Normal Hill Cemetery, Lewiston.
