Phyllis Ann Dorman, 83, of Kendrick, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Kindred Aspen Park Healthcare in Moscow.
She was born July 7, 1932, to Gerald and Nettie Fouts at Homer, Mich.
Phyllis graduated from Washington Gardner High School in Albion, Mich. She attended Michigan State College, where she participated in swim team. She later earned her bachelor's degree from Sacramento State College.
Phyllis was married to Donald Harrison Hallberg, and they later divorced.
She taught elementary school in California for 14 years and continued to take an interest in education and literacy.
In 1978, Phyllis and husband Gerald Dorman moved to Kendrick to retire and become gentlemen farmers. She loved her milk cows, Dolly and Buttercup, and took great pride in her garden. Phyllis had a very soft heart for any and all animals.
She was active with the 4-H program on Cedar Ridge, enjoyed the Friendly Neighbors Club and was an eager participant in community programs and events.
Her hobbies included fishing and hunting, sewing and upholstery. Phyllis had a knack with decorating in a country-cabin style.
She has been laid to rest at Deschutes Memorial Gardens, Bend, Ore.
There will be a remembrance reception at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Gold Hill Community Center, Cedar Ridge, Kendrick.
