Ronnie “Ron” L. Nuxoll, of Clarkston, passed away at home Tuesday, Oct 14, 2025, due to the effects of advanced Parkinson’s, Lewy body dementia. He was born May 13, 1951, in Clarkston to Fredrick G. Nuxoll and Donna D. Davenport Nuxoll. Up to third grade he had moved back and forth to Walla Walla and Clarkston until they settled in Genesee where he grew up, but he had his senior year at the high school in Pullman.
Ron married Cara M. Haener Nuxoll on June 27, 1981, in Moscow. They were married over 44 years. They had three wonderful children: Beau, Bethany and Benjamin Nuxoll.
Ron’s main livelihood was construction, owning his own contracting business in Coeur d’Alene and then Clarkston. He drafted his own clever house plans that many builders copied. Ron’s previous employment had him building homes around our region and in Alaska. He had very interesting jobs over the years which included, among other things, being a saw in the North Idaho forests and working on an oil platform on the Pacific Ocean. Ron had a superior work ethic, was very strong, loved people and really enjoyed working outdoors as well as outdoor recreation.
Ron’s interests were many, his favorite being music, especially from the ’60s and ’70s, and he belonged to the Palouse Harmony Chorus Barbershop, he had perfect pitch and a beautiful tenor voice. He was a fourth degree member in the Catholic men’s charity Knights of Columbus, was the youngest ever in Idaho at age 14, to become a search and rescue member, did extensive hunting as a kid, and was considered a sure shot. Ron was very athletic, played varsity sports, was Idaho state foosball champion, an excellent pool player, he won boxing tournaments, loved classic cars, especially his GTO Judge, motorcycles, photography and was a talented artist. Above all, he was a devoted family man, and he was loved by many people.
Ron is survived by his wife, Cara, his son Beau and spouse Alicia Nuxoll, his grandchildren Adalyn and Brielle Nuxoll, and his daughter Bethany Nuxoll, her boyfriend Brady King and his son Tristan King.
His four siblings Diana, Daniel, Barbara and Patricia, and their families. And after Ron was an adult, two stepbrothers Ron and John “Jack” Bashaw, and their families. Also surviving are Cara’s four siblings and their families.
Preceding him in death are his son Benjamin, who died at age 16 of a brain tumor in 2011, his parents, stepmother Alice (Kinzer) Nuxoll and brother-in-law Bob Albright.
There will be a funeral Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1109 Chestnut St., Clarkston. There will be no rosary or reception. His interment will be at a later date at Vineland Cemetery in Clarkston.
