Ronald Lantz "Ron" Colpitts went to heaven the morning of Wednesday, May 11, 2016, peacefully during his nap, after a 28-year battle with multiple sclerosis. He was born to Bert "Shorty" Colpitts and Delores "Sis" Colpitts just five minutes after his big brother, Donald Lane "Don" Colpitts.
Ron grew up in North Lewiston and on the Central Grade, where many memories were made. Ron enjoyed 4-H, music, art, working on farms, playing sports, bonfires and celebrations with family and friends. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1978 and studied art at Lewis-Clark State College.
In 1980 he married Terri Hall (Long), and they traveled the United States together when Ron was a surveyor in the oil fields. They later divorced.
In 1989 he married Brenda Browitt (Longhammer), and they had a son, Ronald Clayton "Clay" Colpitts. They later divorced.
Ron worked for Coca-Cola in production and had many other accomplishments there, such as building the Coca-Cola Park and remodeling the train and cars. He also played Santa Claus at several Christmas parties. He was involved in the start of our Winter Spirit downtown and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
He is survived by his son, Clay Colpitts; his parents, Shorty and Dorothy "Dot" Colpitts, and Sis and Robert "Bob" Rape; his siblings, Andy (Karen) Colpitts, Don (Trish) Colpitts, Darla (Alan) McLaughlin, Cletus (Sabra) Colpitts, Tami Colpitts and Patti (Pete) Holmes; 13 nephews; 12 nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church, 3330 14th St., Lewiston.
A special thank-you to All Saints Catholic Church, the nurses and staff at Prestige Care and Rehabilitation, Odom Corporation and all those who loved and cared for Ron. His family and friends were truly cherished by him.

I read about the death of Ron and I know the family has saddened hearts because of losing their loved one. I want to share these beautiful scriptures where our heavenly father promises us that he is going to do away with man's greatest enemy, death. Rev. 21: 3,4; "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. "And God himself will be with them." And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." Isaiah 25: 8 tells us: "He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces." ) For more comforting scriptures please visit: http://bit.ly/1K38EFt. Also, (www.jw.org search "comfort" or "why we die") has provided me with many more scriptures that have given me comfort and helped me find the answer to Why? I know it will do the same for you. God's kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matt. 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises including the resurrection. John 6: 40 tells us: "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day." It is my prayer these scriptures will give you comfort and hope in your grief. I offer my sincere condolences to the family.
