Susan Wheatley-Cormack passed away peacefully Thursday, April 7, 2016, surrounded by family and close friends.
She was born in 1948 in Peterborough, England, to Marjorie and Wallace West. She was one of seven children. Both her parents and her brother, Michael, preceded her in death. Susan led a long life of service to friends, family and her community. She served the developmentally disabled for 23 years in Asotin County. She believed strongly in the quality and equality of life. Her passions were writing, reading, creating works of art and going to the movies with friends. She loved to visit the ocean. She was strong in her faith and had a very loving connection to her church family. She cherished every moment with her loved ones. She made each feel special and important.
She is survived by her loving husband and his family, her daughters and their families, Heidi and Ian, Matthew, Molly, Stephanie and Stephen, Ben, Marayah, Jessica and her children. She is also survived by Hazel and Dave, David, Diana, Marion, Marjorie and Bruce, and all of their families; also many more nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Her memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Clarkston Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 1123 16th Ave., Clarkston. Arrangements are being handled by Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home. Flowers can be sent to her daughter Stephanie's home.
