Terry J. Owen of Clarkston passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016. Terry was born Nov. 14, 1943, to Art and Esther Owen. He graduated from Colton High School and later attended Washington State College. Terry grew up on the Snake River at Bishop, Wash., east of Wawawai. Family members owned and worked the Bishop Ranch, including his grandparents, mom, dad and brother. As he grew, he also raised his own fruit and produce at the ranch. Later, dams came to the Snake River and the ranch was flooded. The families ended up in Clarkston. Terry resided in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley for the remaining years of his life.
Early on, Terry worked for Rich (Dick) Tierney at the grocery. He built houses for a time, then went on to work residential garbage routes in the valley and later, routes in Nez Perce County for many years.
Thank you to everyone who was a part of Terry's life. We also wish to express gratitude to those who took part in his care and an extra special "thank you" to Robin Height and Katie at Clearwater Medical and Dr. Kent Anderson, medical professionals who Terry felt truly cared and listened to him.
Terry is survived by wife, Kathy; first wife Carol Fuhrman; son Terry Owen Jr. (Sheri); daughter Lisa Rosgen (John); daughter Angie Ryker (Paul); granddaughters Andrea LaPlante and KayLee Rosgen; grandson Kaden Rosgen; and great-granddaughter Miri Jones.

I attended the funeral services Saturday. The attendance and his kids said a lot about Terry, both spoken and unspoken. I was glad I had some time to spend with him.

Condolences to the Owen family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, "heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds." May God bring you comfort and peace.
