Vernon C. Grieser

Vern was born Aug. 26, 1926, in Moscow, to Charles and Elsie Grieser of Genesee. He grew up in Genesee and worked on the family farm until graduating from Genesee High School in 1944. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1948.

Vern married Vera M. Pratt in the fall of 1948. They made their home in Lewiston, where he worked for the Lewiston Orchards Irrigation District. He went to work for the city of Lewiston in 1959, until his retirement in 1986.

Vern enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, rock hounding, gardening and spending time with his friends at the "Zoo."

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Vera; both of his parents; two brothers; and a sister.

He is survived by sons Ron (Deb) Grieser of Marble Falls, Texas, and Larry (Karen) Grieser of Lewiston; and a daughter, Jeanine Reed of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Mikaela (James) White, Kyle Grieser, Bryan (Kelsey) Grieser; and three great-grandchildren, Landon White, Adelyn White and Henley Grieser.
