Wendy Faye Rickman, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, entered into rest Friday, March 27, 2015, in Lewiston.
Wendy was born April 19, 1957, to Winifred Chamberlain and Carl Painter, and lived all of her life in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. She attended Lewiston schools, graduating in 1974, where she participated in track and field. She began her career in 1979 at Albertsons, retiring after 34 dedicated years of service in 2013. She married Thomas Rickman Jr. on Nov. 13, 1982, in Coeur d'Alene. He passed away in 2005. Together they made their home in Lapwai, where they raised their beloved son. Wendy enjoyed renovating homes and traveling with her family to an annual crabbing trip on the Oregon Coast and an annual Christmas shopping trip with her co-workers. She played softball for many years in the valley, enjoyed jet skiing and her many trips to Mexico and Seattle Seahawks games. Wendy loved spending time with her son and granddaughters and valued her moments with family and friends.
Wendy is survived by her son and daughter, Thomas (Sonny) Rickman III and Natalia Cuevas-Jimenez, and granddaughters Brioni Lynnae Rickman and Aria Soleil Rickman, all of Lapwai; her companion, Shawn Larson of Clarkston; her mother, Winifred Chamberlain of Crooked River, Ore.; her brother, Carl (Linda) Walker of Lewiston; her sisters, Valerie Painter of the Tri-Cities and Lisa (Ken) Erickson of Portland, Ore.; and her beloved dog, Ms. Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Painter; and husband, Thomas Rickman Jr.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Pi Nee Waus Community Center in Lapwai. A dinner and fellowship will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation or the charity of one's choice.
Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home of Lewiston has been entrusted with arrangements.
