On Jan. 19, 2019, William Robert Stinson passed away at the place of his birth. He was born Sept. 17, 1956, to William and Bonnie Stinson, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
Bill, or Billy as he was known to his family, was a lifelong resident of Lewiston. He attended Orchards Elementary, Sacajawea Junior High School and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1975. He was employed by Potlatch Corp. and retired in 2015 after 38 years of service.
Billy was a skilled mechanic and loved classic cars, rebuilding many over the years. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and archery hunting, having many successful seasons.
He married Ramona Mathewson in 1991 and in 1993 they were blessed with a daughter, Kate, his pride and joy. They survive him at the family home with their beloved dogs, Buddy and Sietta.
His family and friends will remember his quiet, laid back style, his wry smile, his dry sense of humor and devotion to his family.
Besides his wife and daughter, Billy is survived by his father, William; and siblings Brinda (Leonard) Calkins of Lapwai, Barbara Kole, Bradley (Ashley) Stinson, all of Lewiston, and Robert (Janene) Stinson of Cottonwood. He was preceded in death by his mother.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
