Longtime Lewiston resident Charles "Duane" Jordan passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2017. He was born May 21, 1930, in Lewiston. He graduated from Lewiston High in 1948. He was part of the 1948 Idaho High School State Championship basketball team.
Duane joined the U.S. Navy in 1950. In 1952 he married Judy Scannell, and they returned to Lewiston in 1959. He ran a Texaco station and later worked for Golden Grain Dairy. Duane worked more than 20 years as a milkman and ice cream maker. Judy and Duane had two children, Allen and Shanon.
In 1986, Duane married the love of his life, Bette Ellis Toothaker. Duane enjoyed fishing. He loved to worship God with his trumpet, his art and writing songs and poems.
Duane will be missed by his beloved wife, Bette; his twin, Barbara Meyers; children Allen Jordan and Shanon Holt; stepchildren Bob Toothaker and Jennie Qualey; grandchildren Ryan Jordan, Jordanna Snyder, Reece Qualey, Ryan Toothaker and Brady Toothaker; and great-grandchildren Branson Snyder, Ryder Jordan, Charlee Jordan and Rya Lynn Toothaker.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Hope Assembly of God Church, 1033 Burrell Ave., Lewiston.
