Corey Bennett passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the age of 54. He was born June 6, 1972, to Bernice Bennett, who later married Marvin Park. He grew up with his older brother Shayne and his sister Kimberly.
Corey was a hardworking, generous man whose magnetic personality drew people to him wherever he went. He had a gift for making people laugh and was often ready with a joke or a story. Whether among lifelong friends or surrounded by family, Corey made people feel welcome and valued. His kindness, generosity and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
In 2001, Corey married Kerry Forsmann. Although their marriage later ended, together they were blessed with their daughter, Kassidy Lee Bennett, who was the pride and joy of his life. Corey also unofficially adopted Kailee Vallem and Kyra Forsmann, loving and caring for them as his own. He was also blessed with five grandchildren, who brought him great joy. His girls were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment he spent with them.
Corey loved the outdoors and found peace in nature. Some of his favorite places included Craig Mountain near Waha, the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River, and the North Fork of the Clearwater River. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, skin diving, shooting, working as a mechanic and riding his Yamaha Grizzly. These places and activities brought him happiness and created countless memories with family and friends.
Later in life, Corey found faith, which became an important part of his journey and brought him comfort and peace.
Corey leaves behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, strength and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Kassidy (Bennett) Cranston, who married Tanner Cranston; Kailee Vallem and Kyra (Forsmann) Stimmel, who married Jeff Stimmel, whom he loved as daughters; his mother, Bernice Park, and stepfather Marvin Park; his older brother Shayne Park and sister Kimberly Job; his five grandchildren Phoenyx Vallem-Russell, Cleo Stimmel, Maverick Stimmel, Foster Stimmel and one on the way from Kassidy and Tanner Cranston; his uncle Frank Bennett; his many lifelong friends; and all whose lives were touched by his friendship, humor and caring heart.
Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created, the love he shared and the laughter he inspired will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him forever.
There will be a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Lewiston VFW Hall, 1104 Warner Ave., Lewiston. A potluck will be held at the service; those attending are invited to bring a side dish to share along with stories.
