David L. “Dave” Cook passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Lewiston. He was born June 11, 1958, to Shirley and Asa Cook Jr.
Dave graduated from Kendrick High School in 1977 and went to work on the family farm. He later drove logging truck for his dad. With help from his dad, he later owned his own truck.
He married Janell Porter and while they later divorced, they remained friends.
He is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; also sisters, Margaret Bostick of Puyallup, Wash., Janice Daniels of Lewiston, and Nancy Knapik of Seabrook, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, brothers Tim and Ed, and nephews Kyle Summers and Zachary Cook.
While Dave didn’t have children, his dog, Abby, was his pride and Joy. Abby has been adopted by his niece, Amanda, and family.
The family suggests any memorials be made to J-K Ambulance, Kendrick, ID 83537, or your local animal shelter.
A celebration of life and covered-dish dinner will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Eagles Club, 1310 Main St., Lewiston. Please come and share your memories with Dave’s family.
