Elizabeth Chapman Borders went home to be with Jesus her Lord and savior Thursday, June 25, 2026, at her home in Clarkston, with her son Raymond by her side who cared for her.
She was born Dec. 15, 1943, in Orofino to Otis and Mae Moore. She had 4 siblings: Richard Moore (Lois), Rose Price (Jim), Jean Wheeler (Rick) and Susie Lane (Larry).
The family moved to Cavendish where she later met Budd Chapman of Weippe. They were married in Lewiston at the First Methodist Church in 1957. Budd and Elizabeth raised their five children at Weippe. She was a homemaker, and went to the First Protestant Church in Pierce, where she met the Lord and he changed her life.
With work transferring Budd and family to Lewiston in 1974, Elizabeth worked at the Lewis and Clark Hotel. Her most memorable time there was when they were filming the movie Breakheart Pass, she got to meet several interesting people. She also established several businesses including two prosperous furniture stores. Additionally, she became a licensed foster parent and entered into the shelter care business. She owned several facilities, even caring for some clients in her home. She was a member of Blessed Hope Assembly of God where she taught Sunday school and youth ministries, and staged Bible-based plays.
In 2002, she moved to Oregon and married Dave Borders. There, she graduated college and earned a paraprofessional degree. She taught school in Oregon and when they returned to the valley she also taught in Clarkston. After she retired from teaching, Elizabeth continued to care for the elderly in her home. She also cared for her husband Dave until his passing.
Elizabeth and Dave attended Mission Church and SonRise Church in Clarkston until they could no longer attend due to health issues.
She loved to travel and shop, and have family get togethers for any and all occasions.
What she loved most was reading the word and telling others about Jesus.
The family would like to thank Nurse Jeanie for her love and care for our mother.
She is survived by her first husband Budd Chapman (Janice), Irene Love (Tony), Marvin Chapman (Janice), Mark Chapman (Dodie), Raymond Chapman (Melissa), Allen Chapman (Anna), her sister Jean Wheeler and many nieces and nephews.
