Affectionately known as Paul; Henry Paul Jordan passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026. He will be remembered by family and friends with great respect and affection for a life marked by dedication, quiet strength and enduring passions.
Paul had a deep appreciation for horses, finding in them both companionship and peace. He was an enthusiastic supporter of his favorite sports teams, the Seahawks and Mariners, and took great enjoyment in following their seasons and sharing in the spirit of their games.
He devoted a career to education as a teacher at Tammany Alternative School, where he specialized in history and English. Paul approached teaching with commitment and integrity, leaving a meaningful and lasting impact on his students and colleagues.
In his personal time, Paul found pleasure in the thoughtful challenge of chess and the tranquility of daily walks in his wheelchair. He especially cherished time spent outdoors in his neighborhood and along the golf course, often accompanied by his beloved dogs, Gracie and Aussie, enjoying the simple comfort of a cigar and the surrounding scenery.
Paul was a devoted son to John and Evelyn Jordan, who preceded him in death; a beloved brother to Debra, John, Steve and James; and a proud uncle to several nieces and nephews. He valued family deeply and will be remembered for his steady presence and enduring care.
Because I could not stop for Death -
He kindly stopped for me -
The Carriage held but just ourselves -
and Immortality.
— Emily Dickinson
Paul more than earned his fair share of immortality. At age 17 in a car accident, he became a lifetime paraplegic. Paul remained optimistic, always positive about his quality of life, never complaining despite countless health issues and surgeries.
His memory will be held in the hearts of those who knew him; he will be deeply missed.
