Jamie H. Maxwell

Jamie H. Maxwell

5/12/1977 — 2/20/2017

Jamie passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, to be united with her dad.

Jamie was born May 12, 1977, in Clarkston, to Michael "Mike" and Charlene "Char" Hebert. She attended Camelot Elementary School, Sacajawea Junior High and Lewiston High School, graduating in 1995. She then attended Lewis-Clark State College for three years.

Jamie was athletic and while attending junior high and high school, she participated in volleyball, basketball and softball. After graduating, she continued to play softball in summer league and played a lot of backyard sports. She particularly enjoyed playing with her kids, swimming in the pool and heating up the grill with family and friends.

Growing up, Jamie and family camped, fished, rode dirt bikes and hiked into mountain lakes. Jamie and Jason were taught to fix their own fishing pole, top to bottom, and the kids had their own equipment. The golden rule was: you catch, you clean. Later we would spend time at the grandparents' summer house on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Winters were spent snowmobiling at the family cabin at Soldiers Meadow.

Jamie was married and had two children, her pride and joy - Casey Michael St. Clair and Cassie LeeAnn St. Clair. That marriage ended in divorce. Jamie married James Maxwell. Through her career, she worked in the banking industry for years. After her second marriage, she found her true calling, the great outdoors. Jamie and her family owned and operated an organic garden and fruit stand, demonstrating her green thumb, which shone brightly. It was a family affair - they traveled to the farmers market in Moscow and sold produce and flowers from their garden and at other various farmers markets. She developed and grew her own flowers and hanging baskets for the enjoyment of others. She was a master gardener and thrived working in her flowers. When her marriage ended in divorce, she was employed by Western Forest Systems and again was in her element. She could name all the trees, pine cones and seeds as we hiked in the forest.

Jamie was looking forward to Casey's graduation, Cassie playing volleyball at LHS, following in her footsteps, planning our garden spot and looking forward to the summer activities with her children and family.

She is survived by her children, Casey and Cassie St. Clair; mother Charlene "Char" Hebert; brother Jason (Natalie) Hebert; nieces Taylor and Layla (due in April); grandmother Olive Steeley; aunt Guyla Tiede; uncle Russe Steeley (Rose); and cousins Sundee Phillips, Marina Tiede, Tori, Carli, and Kole Steeley, Lindee and Kody Triplett.

Jamie was preceded in death by her dad, Michael Hebert; grandpa Guy Steeley, and grandpa Wally and grandma Margie Newman; as well as uncle Glen Tiede.
