Jeremy Bovencamp

8/12/1980 — 8/22/2024

Aug. 12, 1980 — Aug. 22, 2024

———

Jeremy Bovencamp was born on Aug. 12, 1980, to Earlene Ann Bovencamp-Weber and Mark Edward Allen III in Lewiston. Jeremy was an enrolled member of the Nez Perce Tribe. He attended school at Culdesac School and Highland High School in Craigmont. Jeremy was recently enrolled at Lewis-Clark State College for the 2024-25 school year with plans on majoring in social work. Jeremy has worked at many jobs throughout his life from farming, mechanic, construction and artistry. He has worked for Deatley, Poe Asphalt, and many area farms including Brammer Farms and Weber Farms. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none. He would help out anyone and give the shirt off his back if you needed one. He had a heart of gold and a smile that could light up your day. Jeremy loved animals and animals loved him. He was devastated when he lost his little dog Hope Charlene Bovencamp who was faithfully beside him for many years. Jeremy had a love for anything fast especially his Harley Davidson. He loved to ride with Hope on his shoulder or tucked away in his leather jacket. He will miss his Harley Davidson family and all people in the recovery community. Jeremy would not want anyone to be sad but to remember the good, fast times with him whether you were on the run or just kickin’ it with him in dangerous places.

Jeremy is survived by his parents Earlene and Mike Weber of Gifford; brothers, Damien and Jessie Allert, Jacob “Skyler” Wilson and Shilo Wilson; a sister Eva Bonner; surviving daughters Winter, Stevie Ray, and Casey. He is also survived by his significant other, Lydia Wheeler, plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his father Mark Edward Allen III, paternal grandparents Mark Joseph Allen Jr. and Ernestine Wanda Paul-Mesplie; maternal grandparents William Earl and Agnes Charlene Bovencamp, and May June Munsterman.

There will be a viewing and memorial at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Pineewaus in Lapwai. Cremation will take place this evening. There will be a non-denominational service at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, with a dinner to follow at noon at the Pineewaus.

Condolences

Wendy Norbom

I met Jeremy quite some time ago when he enthusiastically applied to be trained as a Facilitator in our Justice Involved Connection Groups for in-person work in Lewiston and virtual work for Ada County. He was gentle giant – so kind-hearted, compassionate, with a soul to advocate for others facing similar challenges he had experienced. Because of his lived experience, he was so relatable to those in our programs and was an integral part of our Peer Support Groups at NAMI Idaho for individuals in justice diversion programs. His group just loved him so much and his passing has been very difficult for them.

We have had a lot of chats. His willingness to be present touched all of us. He was sincerely the kindest human being. Being a part of our Program Leadership Group, he was respected and we all loved him. I was proud to call him a friend.

My deepest condolences and sympathy to everyone in his family, all who loved him. He loved you all very, very much.

I will miss his laughter, his wisdom and his contribution to the well-being of others more than I can express here. This really is a gut punch, losing him.

Rest in Power, sweet Jeremy. You left a mark on my heart that will last a lifetime.
