Johnathan D. “John” Gettys, 35, from Clarkston, tragically lost his life Thursday, April 27, 2017, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston due to massive head injuries as a result of a collision between a truck and an ATV he was operating on the Anatone Flats, Monday, April 24, 2017. At the time of the accident, he was working for C&L Farms in Anatone.
John was born April 21, 1982, in Grants Pass, Ore., to Duane and Bonnie Carroll Gettys. He graduated from Colville High School in 2000. He immediately began working in the logging and farming industries throughout Washington.

John began his lifelong career farming for C&L Farms in Anatone in March of 2008.
A true outdoorsman and hard worker, John loved everything that allowed him to connect with nature and the outdoors. Whether it was in the field farming, in the mountains hunting, trapping, sawing firewood or enjoying a beer around the campfire with friends. He enjoyed going up the river in their jet boat and spending time on the river and on its beaches with Tami and their 8-year-old daughter, Kodi.
Other activities that John enjoyed were rodeoing, snow skiing and gardening. He was also a proud member and firefighter for the Blue Mountain Fire District.
John lived life to the fullest and anything he did, he did with 100 percent commitment.
John touched many lives and made friends wherever he went. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Tami Montague Gettys, and 8-year-old daughter Kodi of Clarkston; parents Duane and Bonnie Gettys of Colville; brothers David (Nadine) Gettys, of Monrovia, Calif., Michael (Rebecca) Gettys, of Colville and Steven (Melanie) Gettys, of Auburn, Wash.; grandmother Bonelle Carroll, Springfield, Ore.; in-laws Ralph and Linda Montague, Clarkston; brother-in-law Justin (Lisa) Montague, of Clarkston; sister-in-law Shelby Szatkowski (Mike), of Coeur d’ Alene; six nieces and one nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
