Karen Schmidt was born to Harvey and Emma Boesen on Aug. 31, 1941, and passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016.
Karen was married to Irvin "Smitty" Schmidt in 1974.
Karen loved horses from an early age. She and Smitty raised race horses in the 1980s.
Karen lived in Lewiston most of her life. After marrying Smitty, she moved to Spokane. She lived there for 24 years, then moved back to Lewiston.
She worked for the Operating Engineers Union for many years a secretary. After retiring, she enjoyed painting.
She is survived by her husband, Smitty; son Sean and his wife Connie; sister Betty Rudfelt; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There will be no services, per Karen's request.
